Gulf Insurance and Reinsurance Company (GIRI) was established at end of 2007 as a subsidiary of Gulf Insurance Group (GIG), it was the first and only local specialized Life & Health Insurance Company in the market.
It was previously named as Gulf Life Insurance Company (GLIC) and changed its license to be composite insurer. Nowadays, the company operates with paid-up capital of KD 12 million from being KD 5 million in 2007.
Currently Gulf Insurance and Reinsurance company (GIRI) is the largest insurance company in Kuwait in terms of written and retained premiums in terms of life, medical and motor segments and its activities are further supported by first class reinsurance security.
Through customer-centric approach, GIRI offers range of products and services involving various classes of conventional insurance: Motor, Marine & Aviation, Property & Casualty, Engineering and Life & Health.
